I got an Insufficient Privileges Notice in Salesforce!

Depending on your Salesforce settings, you may need to make the Visualforce elements viewable by various user profiles. If you are experiencing an 'insufficient privileges' message within Salesforce, you should first try checking your Visualforce Pages settings. Sandbox versus Production

If you have checked the sandbox option on the Salesforce connector options, and you are trying to connect to a production account, the connector will not verify. The opposite is also true.

I just created a new custom field and mapped it to its Salesforce equivalent but the values aren't populating on my prospects!

Creating a field in Pardot and mapping it to a field in Salesforce that has preexisting values won't trigger a sync of your prospects. A sync is required to pull those values from Salesforce into Pardot.

My de-duplication management is preventing some prospects from syncing!

The connector user is subject to validation rules and duplication rules in Salesforce like any other user. If Pardot creates what Salesforce thinks is a duplicate record, you may get a sync error. You can manually view and correct prospects by checking your sync queue for errors in Pardot.

Must Install the Pardot Package Error

When attempting to verify the Salesforce connector, you may get an error like this one: Before you can create a Salesforce connector, you must install the Pardot package in the Salesforce Org to which you are connecting. Please see our Knowledge Base article on installing the Pardot package

Incorrect URL

Contact Pardot support to change the connector login URL from login.salesforce.com to test.salesforce.com if you switched a V1 connector from Production to Sandbox and vice versa as this does not update automatically.

V2 Connector Can't be Unpaused

If Connector V2 is stuck as 'Verification in Progress' and cannot be unpaused, this suggests there is a missing step or an issue with provisioning. See article for additional troubleshooting tips.

What Will Happen for Customers that Rely on Pardot-Only Logins?

Because of the reasons listed above, I think there’s a strong case to be made for migrating all Pardot users to Salesforce SSO users ASAP. Still, there may be some customers that want Pardot-only access — if only just because they’re used to it working that way.

What happens if you have zero Salesforce logins?

If you have zero Sales Cloud logins (i.e. you’re a very old legacy, non-Salesforce customer), the Salesforce team will be reaching out about a transition plan.

Does Pardot require Salesforce?

While Pardot does offer additional functionality to Salesforce users with a full Sales or Service Cloud license , Pardot is not going to start requiring one of these license s.

Does Salesforce require a license?

No. While Sales Cloud and Service Cloud licenses do have a per-user cost, Pardot will not require that all users have one of theses licenses to continue using Pardot. As part of this change, Salesforce Identity licenses will be bundled into your Salesforce org at no additional cost and can be assigned to users who do not need a full Sales or Service Cloud license.

Can you use Salesforce SSO but only access Pardot?

In short: Salesforce will give you some courtesy / “freebie” licenses that allow you to use Salesforce SSO but only access Pardot. More details on this were shared in the Pardot User Migration Knowledge Article as well.

Does Pardot need a license?

To support customers with Pardot-only users who do not need a full Salesforce license, Pardot will be bundling Salesforce Identity licenses with all Pardot editions. The exact number of bundled licenses is still being finalized, but it will cover the needs of nearly all Pardot customers.
