Why is my custom profile not working in Salesforce?

The custom profile was using Salesforce Platform user license. We moved the user from this profile to another profile which was using Salesforce user license. This solved the issue. Thanks! We had checked the master-detail relationship and this was not causing the issue.

Do I need to give access of opportunity to custom profile?

If yes, then you need to give access of Opportunity to your custom profile 'XYZ'. This issue has been solved. The custom profile was using Salesforce Platform user license.

What is the difference between custom and standard objects in Salesforce?

Objects already created for you by Salesforce are called standard objects. Objects you create in your organization are called custom objects. Objects you create that map to data stored outside your organization are called external objects.

What are Salesforce objects?

What is API object?

Is API read only?

Most of the objects accessible through the API are read-write objects. However, there are a few objects that are read-only. This fact is noted in the description for the object .

If an object is not included in search results an administrator can check

Ensure the object has a tab created. Objects without a tab aren't returned in search results, see Create a Custom Object Tab for more details.

In Classic, Smart Search returns results for the objects that you use most frequently

If the object isn't frequently used and not included in initial search results, users can click Search All or View More. These options expand the search to additional or desired objects that aren't automatically returned or scoped via smart search.

In Lightning Experience, each user's Top Results page includes the objects they use the most

For new users or users that have little to no activity in Salesforce for over 90 days

Default global search in Classic returns all objects (same results as clicking 'Search All').
