What WalkMe looks like in Salesforce

I followed the instructions for installing WalkMe in my Dev Salesforce instance. The instructions were easy to follow and the setup took very little time. WalkMe works with all popular browsers including IE, Chrome, FireFox, and Safari.

Creating my own walk-thrus

If I want to create customized walk-thrus on WalkMe, I just have to open the editor in my Firefox browser. It appears on the left-hand side, and is pretty straight-forward. I just go to the webpage that I want to make a tutorial about, and start making a WalkMe lesson by clicking on "New Step."

Analytics

Walk me also has analytics that I can view to see how many walk-thrus have been started and how many goals were completed. It comes with a nifty looking chart to show you trends. Since I was just playing around with it on my Dev Salesforce account, there isn't much to look at here. But you get the idea of what it might look like.

Pricing

Pricing is not very transparent. There is a free plan, which gives me 3 walk-thrus, along with some other features. But anything more will cost me. How much? I don't know. If I wanted to find out, I would need to request a quote. Since I was just trying it out, I did not request a quote.

How does this compare with ScreenSteps?

Introduction

I first heard of WalkMe at a Salesforce networking event, the guy I was talking to was describing the problems of on boarding Sales people and Call centre employees onto Salesforce. The lack of training for new employees meant data quality was rapidly going down and key business processes were being forgotten.

Setup

WalkMe is not actually installed into your Salesforce Org from the AppExchange, it is a browser extension that installs into Mozilla Firefox. Before trying any of this out I was unsure of this setup process and I’m usually very put off by Apps that have a lengthy and complicated installation process.

Building Walk-Thrus

Once installed and logged in to your account you can pretty much start building solutions straight away! This is what impressed me most about the App, it is just so simple to get started and because the concept is so basic you can get to grips with it within minutes.

Deployment

Once I created my very basic Walk Thru I wanted to deploy it into my Salesforce Org. This was the bit I felt most uneasy about as I hadn’t a clue in my mind how these things worked together! Once I read through the documentation it was very clear and looked pretty effortless.

Conclusion

WalkMe is a seriously cool App that is easy to setup, easy to use and takes minutes to install into a Salesforce environment.
