Minimize Unintentional Emails: Adjust Email Deliverability
Sometimes, when doing data loads, you may accidentally fire emails to Users.
Filter For Records With List Views
Do you waste tons of time trying to find Salesforce records and wish you could filter them? If you were unaware, List Views can provide this for you and your team. List Views are easy to make and give you the ability to filter on almost any field on a record. You can make your own personal List Views to use, or List Views for anyone on your team.
Send Automatic Welcome Emails to New Users
In Salesforce, you can set up automated emails to fire based on actions like creating or editing records, when events occur, or when a specific time period passes.
How to View Archived Activities
In Salesforce you can have Activities, like Tasks and Events, related to records. You can view a record’s Activity History to see past actions associated to the record. However, when reporting, you can only include Activities that are less than a year old. Activities that are over a year old are not deleted but archived instead.
How to Make Rollup Summary Fields On Any Objects
The last Salesforce trick that every great Admin should know is how to create Rollup Summary fields on objects for records that do not have Master-detail relationships to another object. In native Salesforce, you can only create Rollup Summary fields on objects that are detail records in Master-detail relationships with another object.
1. Educate Yourself
Expand your knowledge of the Salesforce Platform whenever you can – try to learn something new every day. Whether that means self-training using Trailhead, getting your Salesforce certification, attending in-person events (post-pandemic) or online events/webinars – or any combination of these.
2. Get Involved with the Trailblazer Community
Join the online Salesforce Trailblazer Community. It’s a great place to learn and connect with other Salesforce Administrators and experts, get new ideas and learn best practices. Join the groups that make sense for how you are using Salesforce and ask questions within those groups. Go to the Answers tab and post a question.
3. Join Your Local Trailblazer Community User Group
Trailblazer Community Groups are local groups that are run by other Salesforce Admins in your geographical area – not by Salesforce. This is THE place to meet other Salesforce Admins and learn about how they are using the platform. Sharing information with other Salesforce Admins, asking them questions about how they solve issues, etc.
4. Attend Dreamforce
I have attended 16 Dreamforces and I have walked away from every single one with new relationships that have shaped my career. From inspirational keynotes, visionary ideas and announcements of new features, Dreamforce will change how you think about your business and the solutions that you are creating.
5. Use Social Channels to Your Advantage
Having a social presence gives you exposure to people beyond your normal reach. Tweet and follow those who tweet about Salesforce, join and participate in Salesforce networking groups on Facebook and LinkedIn. You are bound to learn something new and you might even build your own brand by helping others in those groups with your solutions.
6. Use Your Sandbox
A Sandbox is a copy of your production organization. You can create multiple copies of your organization without compromising the data and applications in your production organization. Sandboxes should be used for EVERY change. Test everything before deploying to production! You can even use a full Sandbox for onboarding new users.
7. Learn When to Say No!
Yes, you read that correctly. You are allowed to say No! Inevitably, someone in your organization is going to come to you and say, “Can Salesforce <insert just about anything here>?” The answer is most likely “Yes, it CAN”. It is your job as the Salesforce expert in your organization to evaluate if it SHOULD.
The Complete Guide to Salesforce User Management
When you get set up in Salesforce, adding users is an anticipated step. After all, your users are the ones who will be entering data in Salesforce and using it the most. This said, granting a user login credentials is one piece of the puzzle, and adding users without considering what type of access they need can produce headaches down the road.

How I Passed my Salesforce Administrator Certification Exam in 27 days
The coveted & elusive Salesforce Admin Certification is f inally mine! This one badge is proof that I know my shit! Getting here was not easy and my goal is to provide you with a blueprint of how I got my Salesforce Admin Certification.
Day 12–20 Mock Tests
You will find that there are a plethora of places where admins can take mock tests. I did a combination of 3 separate places that helped me A LOT! One of them was by far the most comprehensive as far as featuring real questions asked in the admin exam.
Day 21–24 Online practice test
The last few days were dedicated entirely towards taking that one test which helped me with over 60% of the answers. Now, I want you to know that I did not just start with the Salesforce.com platform. I’ve been a Salesforce Admin since June 2015. I did not know anything about Salesforce when I first started.
Day 25–27 Relax
3 days before my Salesforce Admin Certification, I actually quit the frantic activity of online test-taking and took some time to just relax. I was still using Salesforce in my full-time job so it’s not like I completely quit Salesforce before the exam. Giving yourself some downtime might be good for the noggin!!!
