There is a way in which we can override this confirmation. To do that we need to select the “Generate new password and notify user immediately” checkbox before saving the address change. If the salesforce administrator selects this checkbox when changing the email address of a user, the user will not receive a mail asking for confirmation.

Yes, here is the trick:
  1. Click Edit on user detail page.
  2. Change the email address AND check "Generate new password and notify user immediately" checkbox (all the way at the bottom of the edit screen) at the same time.
  3. Click Save button.
