How to Become a Trailhead Ranger in One Month

Simple – take enough modules, to gain enough badges, until you total 100 badges.

Journey to Trailhead Ranger

I remember the first day I used Trailhead. It was at a Trailblazer Community group meeting in London, back in 2016. You could say that the people I sat with that day were early adopters; at the time, I had no idea how far Trailhead would go.

In the Beginning

My Trailhead journey began in my second week at the ’Force. My exceptional onboarding buddy, Alan Weibel, shined me on to Trailhead, and I was instantly hooked. The prospect of earning points, unlocking badges, and leveling up by completing quest-like modules was too much for my inner gamer to resist.

The Big Bang

It was about this time that a stray remark from a co-worker threw my mission to Ranger into hyperdrive: If you don’t know this, you’re not doing your job.

The Points Mission

So, where in the world might one efficiently earn 47,350 points? If you search for “Rack up points” on Trailhead you should see these gems nested in the results:

We Are Not Alone

I didn’t figure out how to add a missing field on my own — and I didn’t get to Ranger in five weeks on my own, either. In both cases, I had the knowledgebase of the massive Trailhead developer community at my back.

Connecting the Dots

As of this writing, I’ve been at Salesforce for five months. But it feels like I’ve been with the Ohana for much longer — in a good way. Taking a moment to look back and connect the dots, I see becoming Ranger as a big reason for that good feeling. Here are a few practices I picked up on my journey. I hope they help you as much as they have me:

What is Salesforce certification?

A: Salesforce certification is proof for the clients who we service that we do have sufficient skills and knowledge to handle their critical business processes. After making the decision, I got 2 months to complete my first certification preparation.

Is it easy to do maintenance on Trailhead?

A: No, maintenance is easy. A few times a year you have to complete a maintenance module on Trailhead. Not a module for each cert though, some like Admin and Advanced Admin are grouped together. For my 12 certs, I guess I have maybe four branches requiring a module.

Is Salesforce hard to learn?

A: Yes, it is hard. It’s really difficult. I’ll be honest, I usually put in one or two hours per day every day including weekends so that I can start gaining the knowledge and then applying it.#N#A great benefit that I had was that I actually got to work for Salesforce and that was extremely helpful! Working for the company, I got to interact with a lot of different clients and I got to see a lot of different experiences that I think a lot of people who are just in the consulting sphere might not have that opportunity.

Is Salesforce good for notification?

A: No, Salesforce is good about sending a notification and most of them are now completed by doing a Trailhead badge rather than an exam, which is better because you also get the hands-on experience rather than just answering a few questions.

Why is Salesforce adoption so good?

1. Ease of use : This is one of the primary reasons that drive the Salesforce adoption rate. Sales Reps have better visibility into their accounts, contacts, opportunities, tasks, all from a single place. They have a complete 360-degree view of the customer, which in turn helps them to make better business decisions and close deals faster.

What is Salesforce platform?

The default Salesforce platform comes with a wide array of features and functionalities which caters to most organizational needs. During the implementation process, the Admin can make point-and-click alterations via the Force.com builder to configure the solution as per your business process.

Is Salesforce a PaaS?

Salesforce launched the first cloud-based CRM and also established the Platform as a Service ( PaaS) market with Force.com to support the complex real-world business models. With no capital expense involved for the setup, Salesforce charges are based on user licenses.

Is Salesforce a cloud platform?

Being a Cloud Platform, the implementation time for Salesforce is much lesser than standard solutions, thereby lessening the Go-Live timeframe. The feature-rich solution can be configured easily and even if any customization is required, it can be incorporated in a systematic order easily.

Is Salesforce a scalable solution?

When you are opting for a CRM, you are not simply making a decision for today, but the solution should also be scalable enough to meet your business needs 3 years hence. Salesforce is highly scalable and the customizability factor helps to modify and adapt to all future specifications. 5. Cloud-based PaaS model :
