Likelihood to Recommend
Amazon Cognito may be the best authentication service for those who use Amazon as a cloud provider. Also, Amazon Cognito can be configured easily and quickly if you need OpenID for your other AWS services (such as Application Load Balancer or API Gateway).
Cons
Amazon Cognito has a bit of a learning curve. You need to learn its concepts and terminology. The documentation does not describe some topics comprehensively.
Usability
All the features AWS Cognito offers gives the user the options they need without making it too complicated. Your customers will be happy. On the administration site usability is also great. After a small learning curve, you can setup Cognito for your usage
Support Rating
It is easy to configure, scale and integrate. However, the documentation is a bit confusing. Summing them up, I will go for 8 out of 10.
Alternatives Considered
Amazon allows us to do multiple factor authentication with a few clicks, whereas Firebase has a difficulty in doing the same. I started with the Firebase, and I was easily able to use DynamonDB with it's authentication but due to the way AWS Android SDK implements I have faced too much trouble in doing real time synchronization.
Return on Investment
Amazon Cognito is an expensive purchase - it adds to the overall cost to the business.
